New virtual career advising tool Career Decision Profile

In June, we launched a new, unique virtual career and education advising tool, Career Decision Profile (CDP), developed by Dr. Lawrence K. Jones, NCC.  The online, self-guided CDP provides advisors in higher education, business, and workforce development rapid insights into client career decision needs.

Advisors effectively allocate scarce resources while better supporting unique client needs, especially during the pandemic where in-person advising is not possible.

Based on 30 years of research, this five-minute, reliable and valid career readiness assessment measures three dimensions of career decision status:

  • Individual needs and barriers identification

  • Service levels estimation

  • Recommendations for practical action steps to students and advisors for moving forward

After a successful pilot in partnership with Kansas State University during the 2018-2019 academic year, Career Key has publicly launched the CDP on its career decision platform that includes the group administration portal–Career Key Central.
