New Career Readiness Competencies Map to Career Key
We always need new ways to overcome one of career and education counseling’s greatest challenges – bringing theory and research into practice. Research-based frameworks are one way to help busy practitioners create and deliver interventions that will improve student outcomes.
Career Key maps its tools and content to counseling frameworks like the K12 American School Counselors Association (ASCA) Mindsets and Behaviors. Now, we’re pleased to release a new framework map for career readiness competencies in higher education.
Recently the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) released their eight Career Readiness Competencies framework for higher education, saying
“career readiness provides a framework for addressing career-related goals and outcomes of curricular and extracurricular activities, regardless of the student’s field of study.”
Employers also value career readiness for identifying and developing talent.
NACE also published sample behaviors that help practitioners understand the revised competencies and provide evidence of career readiness. They
“allow college students preparing to enter the workforce to demonstrate their career readiness to prospective employers.”
